Thoughtcrime Begins

Remember that Thoughtcrime begins today (2/2/06) at 12:00 p.m. This post will serve as a discussion forum for the game. If you have technical difficulties accessing or playing the game, please post them here.

What I’m really interested in, though, is the way playing Thoughtcrime helps or doesn’t help your reading of 1984. If you can post about your experience–while preserving your game identity–I would really appreciate it.

You might want to take a look at how high school students have responded to the game. You can also search “Thoughtcrime” to get to the same information.

A last note: this is the third time the game has been played, but the first since a major crash destroyed most of the original game. So, there are bound to be a few bugs.

I can’t open the game. It says I need a browser that supports Java. I know you said that in class but I don’t know how to get it. I have Windows XP with Internet Explorer. My email is if you have any insight.

I’m having the same problem as Ruby. I don’t know how to install Java onto my computer and allow it.
