Looks like my friend Gail Desler at Blogwalker has nominated this blog for the Edublog Awards under the category “Best Use of Audio.” Thanks Gail! Her nomination came just as my 311 class contributed some excellent new podcasts on a range of young adult novels, including The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan, Slam by Nick Hornby, Skinny by Ibi Kaslik, The Giver by Lois Lowry, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. You can find all of these under “audio-visual–>podcasts.”

These podcasts have been improving every semester, and this was a particularly good batch. Hard to believe this site now hosts over 60 different podcasts on young adult books. Here’s hoping we win the award . . . and thanks again to Blogwalker.

PS I also see that Blogwalker has nominated the work of my dissertation director, Allen Webb, for the best virtual world . I’m risking immodesty here, but it’s cool to see this nomination too, since Allen’s work derives from my own dissertation in 2004. Yee-Ha!
